NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Race Report
SCARBOROUGH, Maine – Brad Babb of Windham, Maine, unofficially reassumed command of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series track standings with a second-place finish in the 45-lap Pro Series feature event at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough, Maine, on Saturday, August 18. Babb, 19, started 16th in the 24-car field and had cracked into the Top-5 by the midway point of the event. He was second on a late restart with five laps remaining, but the No. 4 Babb Wood Contractors/McGoldrick Bros. Blasting Chevrolet ran out of time to track down eventual winner Charlie Colby. Babb had entered the week fourth in a tight point battle at Beech Ridge, and was the only front-runner to finish in the Top-5 Saturday. (more…)
Trophies to be awarded in over 25 classes, including Best in Show
LOUDON, N.H. (August 17, 2012) – It’s not going to take Dr. Emmitt Brown’s DeLorean from the Back to the Future Trilogy to get a first-hand account of what is sure to be a plethora of custom and vintage vehicles on display this weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway’s annual Custom & Classic Car Show.

Eight year old Ayden Clark, from Hallowell, ME is racing in the Boxstock Division at Richmond Karting Speedway (RKS).
Racing this weekend at RKS, Friday night under the lights, the drivers and pit crews are going to be busy. Though when it comes to racing in the afternoon or under the lights Ayden prefers “Under the lights for sure, my kart seems to handle at night.”
At RKS the teams can race either a Champ kart or a Rocker kart, Ayden is racing a Champ kart which has a fixed frame. Though there is a lot of work that goes into getting the Karts ready for each race Ayden lets his crew chief handle that, “My dad does everything on it, I do better driving it then working on it.” (more…)
Charlotte, NC 8/14/12- This weekend marks the third and final time this season the PASS South super late model series makes their way to “America’s Hometown Track”; South Boston Speedway in South Boston, Virginia. The first trip in March was marred by rain after a Friday afternoon practice session, followed by a June 9th event that saw young Landon Cling, driving for Brad Keselowski Racing, pick up his first career super late model win. This weekend’s Southern Virginia 150 has all the potential to produce another first time series winner, but more importantly it could be one of the final times championship contenders race against one another with minimal outside influx as the season schedule hits the fall months of 2012. Garett Hayman of Milford led all 25 laps of the Little Enduro Series race #3 on Varney Buick-GMC-Mazda’s Wacky Wednesday night at Speedway and, in the process, picked up the series points title with a perfect score of 300. Hayman won the evening’s first qualifier, which placed him on the pole for the main event. He led outside pole-sitter Jeremy Scott of Carmel, who won the second qualifier, for 23 laps until the red came out for a solo spin by Glenburn’s Emma Libby in turn 2. On the restart, Hayman again pulled away from Scott, but Newburgh’s Darren Durrell got in the gas hard and followed Hayman past Scott to finish second, with Scott finishing in third. Kyle Gallant, who battled with Durrell for most of the race finished in fourth with Donny Silva of Hudson finishing fifth in a borrowed car. Hayman also currently leads the Little Enduro season points with 2 race dates remaining in the season. (more…)
