Ben Tinker wins Budweiser 100 at Beech Ridge

Scarborough,Maine- Ben Tinker made his first ever Sport Series win at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway a memorable one by capturing the biggest race of the season for the division. Tinker took the lead at the drop of the green flag and led the opening 38 laps of the race despite challenges from Russ Morse and Chris Smith. Chris Smith took over the lead on lap 39 as Corey Bubar moved to second place and Tinker dropped to third. A caution flag waved on lap 51 when the fourth and fifth place cars of Sally Gherardi and Russ Morse made contact with both cars spinning in turn four. Smith would go back to the front until another caution came out at lap 68.

Top 22 Beech Ridge Finish for Rookie Dunbar and the Youth Move Maine Racing Team

21 cars attempted to qualify for the Beech Ridge race. Finishing in 22nd due to fuel pump issues the #45 Youth Move Maine, Autism Society of Maine Chevy, was stuck in the pits. It was deemed by NASCAR and Travis Dunbar that it was not safe for the #45 to hit the track without a practice run to shake the car down. The team worked very hard to make the race and was ready to go in the pits. Travis Dunbar gave NASCAR a lot of credit for being safety conscious and giving him last place points to stay in the points hunt.

Trevor Sanborn: Beech Ridge Motor Speedway Sanborn Wins 2nd Straight Outing At The Ridge

SCARBOROUGH, Maine — Trevor Sanborn continued his dominance of the 2010 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series season at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway on Saturday night, winning the track’s 40-lap Pro Series feature. It was Sanborn’s second straight victory to open the season at Beech Ridge, and his 10th career Pro Series win. The race was shortened by rain to 39 laps, and it was unfortunately marked by the untimely passing of multi-time track champion Bub Bilodeau. Bilodeau, an early mentor of Sanborn’s racing career, suffered a heart attack following the event while still in his race car.

Scarborough,Maine- Returning to full time competition for 2010, Trevor Sanborn wasted little time getting acquainted with his old stomping grounds. In fact Sanborn enjoyed victory lane so much in the past that he used the first night of NASCAR Whelan All American Series racing to pay a visit to the winners circle. Sanborn bolted from the outside pole position to lead the opening laps with Dan McKeage and Brad Babb following along. A four car battle for fourth position was shaping up with combatants

Beech Ridge finale to Rowe, Buzzell, Snow and Graffam Champions crowned.

 

Scarborough, Maine- Mike Rowe won his fourth straight Pro Series feature race and was crowned champion in the process.  Travis Buzzell scored his first Sports Series feature win and Russ Morse secured his first division championship.  Randy Snow won the Wildcat feature race and Lyman McKeage held on to win the division title.  In the Road Runner division Brian Graffam won the 20 lap feature and Shawn Brackett repeated as champion.
