Curtis Anderson of Richmond, Maine is making the transition this season from Kart racing at Richmond Karting Speedway to Thunder 4 at Wiscasset Speedway.
So over the winter while waiting for race season to start Curtis and his pit crew have been busy, “We have been building a new car for 2014 season at Wiscasset Speedway.”

Opening day at Richmond Karting Speedway (RKS) is on April 27th as the drivers and crews get ready for the 1st green flag of the season. Colby “The Bullet” Benjamin of Belfast, ME, though there wasn’t much racing in the off season Colby found plenty of things to keep him busy, “In the off season I have been hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and playing indoor baseball.”
This upcoming season “The Bullet” will get plenty of seat time racing in karts, “In the 2014 season my plans are to run gold plate at RKS and try some new tracks around New England. I like night races, because I like being under the lights.”

Now that the snow is almost gone Brittany Jalbert of Auburn, Maine will be getting ready to race in the #8 in the Gold Plate Kart Series at Richmond Karting Speedway.
Though Brittany hasn’t been racing in the off season, she has been busy. “During the off season I have been playing field hockey every Sunday morning and dancing Tuesdays & Wednesdays with competitions on the weekends.”

Kate Re of Lovell, Maine will be back at Richmond Karting Speedway (RKS), once again this upcoming race season. Kate will be competing in the two different race series – Box Stock and Junior Animal.
Though Kate hasn’t been racing over the winter, she has been keeping busy getting ready for the 2014 race season. “During the off season I’ve been going to school and getting my karts ready for this season. I’ll be racing two classes this year, so it’s been a lot of work over the winter getting ready. I also put my karts in two car shows over the winter to support RKS and try to get some new racers interested, the Northeast Motorsports Expo in Augusta and the Maine Racin’ Preview in Portland. I was really excited when I won “Best Appearing Go-Kart” at the Augusta show. It was a surprise and a great way to start the season.”

Shane Farrar of Mechanic Falls, Maine is race ready for another season at Richmond Karting Speedway.
Shane has been keeping busy in the off season, “I have been wrestling every single weekend across the state. I wrestle for Oxford Hills Youth Wrestling. I currently hold the Maine State Pee-Wee Championship from 2013 and going to try to hold onto that title as I wrestle for it again April 5th at the Cumberland County Civic Center. I love wrestling it has been my life all winter.”

Fourteen year old Michael Moody, of Gardiner Maine will be doing double duty this upcoming race season, “My plans for the 2014 season is run the full schedule at Richmond and the Ducktona at Kingfield.”
Though there has been plenty of snow and not much racing, Michael has kept busy, “This off season I’ve been preparing myself for the season working with dad on the mini cup and helping my uncle on his.”
