10 year old Nicole Benincasa, of Buxton Maine, made the transition from Junior Boxstock at Richmond Karting Speedway, and in here rookie season she came away with the Boxstock Championship. “It was really cool to win the Boxstock Championship it was the first time I have ever raced for points. It was my first full year racing.”
In the 2012 race season Nicole made a number of trips to victory lane, and it was the same this season as she took the checkered flag 10 times this season. So how does the boxstocks compare to the Jr. Boxstocks, “The speeds are faster and there are many more challenges and stronger competition compared to Junior Boxstock.”

After a few years of hard work and determination Ms. King is now the 2013 RKS Sportsman Champion, “It’s almost unexplainable! Considering last year I had finished 7th, and now being the champion. I’m glad the work my Dad and I put into the kart during the off season showed this season.”
Though Kayla has taken the checkered flag a number of time this season there is one in particular that means a lot to her, “I would have to say the Mid-summer, Shootout, not only because it was my first win, but the fact that the race was really close and I needed to really think about every move I made, especially the last one giving me the win coming out of turn four on the outside. It was truly something amazing, almost unexplainable! It was not only my first win of the season but my first win at the track, and after that win, many more followed.”

Alex Moore got the nickname “Ajax” from his Uncle John Ready, in Greek mythology the name Ajax was the name of the great grandson of the God Zeus.
Alex has to be one of the most determined drivers’ at Richmond Karting Speedway(RKS). Always with a positive attitude on race day as Alex makes the trip from Oxford, ME to RKS.

Driver of the #10, Kate Re of Lovell, Maine has just finished racing the regular season at Richmond Karting Speedway. Kate took the checkered 5 times throughout the 2013 race season at RKS. “The highlight of this season was winning as many races as I have and learning to be a better driver.”
In the last points race of the season Kate moved up to the Box Stock Series. Starting the race mid-pack, Kate was able to make her way to the front, then with after a late caution Kate took the green flag going 3 wide to take the lead and drive on to the checkered flag in her in inaugural Box Stock feature race. “I moved up to Box Stock for the rest of the season to practice for next year. I didn’t expect to win but I was very excited when I did.”

Cam Corbin from Farmingdale, ME is 13 years old and racing in Jr. Sportsman Division at Richmond Karting Speedway (RKS). One of the reasons Cam enjoys racing at RKS is, “The high banks because you don’t have to let off.”
Cam has a lot of experience racing at RKS and knows how to get around the track: “Having a good line and knowing the track.”

Carter Patterson of Belfast, ME was busy all winter, but is now ready to go racing at Richmond Karting Speedway (RKS). “I went snowmobiling, joined the track team, played intramural football, and worked shoveling snow.”
As a 2012 RKS Champion, Carter knows how to get his kart into Victory Lane. He explains, “The key to racing at RKS is the line you run, a good setup and motor.”
Like most drivers racing at RKS, Carter loves when the sun goes down, the lights come on, and as the green flag gets ready to fly. “I prefer racing under the lights because it seems faster and the track is more fun to drive.”
