NEMA Driver Paul Bigelow Ok After Hard Wreck at Thunder Road

Barre, VT – Northeastern Midget Association (NEMA) President Mike Scrivani has reported to Thunder Road officials that NEMA driver Paul Bigelow of Berlin, CT is ok after his horrific crash at Thunder Road International Speedbowl in Barre, VT on Sunday, June 19.

Bigelow was transported to Central Vermont Medical Center for evaluation following his accident on the front stretch. Following his evaluation, Bigelow was released with a slight concussion and a bruised knee.

Folsom Takes Third Career Thunder Road Late Model Win

Barre, VT – Waitsfield’s Grant Folsom claimed his third career Thunder Road Late Model feature win in the Harvest Equipment Sunday Twilight event on Sunday, June 19. Folsom got underneath polesitter Scott Payea after an early restart. After a several laps of banging doors with Payea on the outside, Folsom got free. During a long green flag run, Folsom distance himself from the remainder of the field, but a late caution erased his lead.

Runner-up finisher Chip Grenier didn’t have enough to get around Folsom over the final laps. A hard charging John Donahue came from 14th and might have contended for the lead, but ran out of laps and settled for third. Rookie driver Jimmy Hebert claimed his first top five in fourth, while defending champion Nick Sweet rounded out the top five. Phil Scott, Trampas Demers, Scott Payea, Cody Blake and Mike Bruno completed the top ten.

2011 Texas Roadhouse North East Mini Stock Tour – Twin State Recap

After a very intense and fast moving thundershower roared over the pit area in Claremont, New Hampshire the Texas Roadhouse North East Mini Stock Tour took to the tight 1/3 speedway for the first of two practice sessions.

With a large group of the field being separated by only 2-3 tenths of a second a lap the large field was sure to put on an impressive show under the lights. 17 tour style minis packed into the pit area for the NEMST’s second visit to Twin State Speedway.

John Donahue Earns Fourth Career ACT Win at White Mountain Motorsports Park

North Woodstock, NH – Graniteville, VT’s John Donahue took his fourth career ACT Late Model Tour win at White Mountain Motorsports Park in North Woodstock, NH on Saturday, June 18. Donahue, in his Ford, came from the sixth starting position for his second career win at the ¼ mile speedway.

Donahue held off ACT Tour Champion Brian Hoar and White Mountain Motorsports Park Champion Quinny Welch on several restarts, before outrunning a hard charging Randy Potter who came from 21st. Welch led the early stages of the event before Donahue took over just before the halfway mark. The battle of the night belonged to Potter, Hoar and Wayne Helliwell for second. Potter would win the battle and was running down Donahue when the checkers flew.

Patrick Hamel Scores First Career Série ACT Castrol Win at Riveride Speedway

Ste-Croix, QC – St-Edouard’s Patrick Hamel earned his first career Série ACT Castrol win after inheriting the lead with just seven laps remaining in the Hamel Construction 100 at Riverside Speedway in Ste-Croix, QC. Hamel ran in the second position for most of the event while battling with early leader Claude Leclerc and Donald Theetge in the later stages of the event. Hamel put up a great battle but over the final 47 lap green flag run it appeared he had nothing left for Theetge.

Theetge was working his way through a couple of lap cars with Hamel hanging several car lengths back with seven laps to go. Theetge made contact with a lap car going into turn three on the 94th circuit, which created a slow leak in his left front tire. Hamel passed the slowing Theetge and cruised to the win. Theetge limped around for the remaining laps and finished 16th just one lap down.

NORTH WOODSTOCK, N.H. – Brian Hoar of Williston, Vt., captured his fifthTop-5 finish in five ACT Late Model Tour starts this season with a 4th-place finish in White Mountain 150 at White Mountain Motorsports Park on Saturday, June 18. Hoar started third in the 31-car field and ran as high as second on a Lap 99 restart in the RPM Motorsports No. 37 GossCars.com Dodge. He never fell out of the Top-5 at any point during the event.
