WISCASSET RACEWAY WRAPS UP 2007 SEASON WITH RAIN, RACES, AND AWARDS

Wiscasset Raceway put an end to the 2007 racing season with a full card of racing Saturday afternoon and then trophies handed out to the top ten in each of seven weekly racing series divisions. The program was scheduled to roll off at noon, but the Saturday morning rain that skirted the east coast of New England pushed the start back to 4:30pm once the track drying and practice sessions were complete.

TRAVIS BENJAMIN DECLARED WINNER OF CENTRAL MAINE MOTORS / NAPA 100 AT WISCASSET RACEWAY

Saturday evening's 100 lap main event for the Clark Car Crushing Prostocks produced a first time Wiscasset winner, but it wasnt the one everyone thought as fans headed for home at the end of the show. Farmington's Cassius Clark looked dominant from the pole position in leading all 100 laps of the race, but that wasn't enough to get him the win. It turned out that the only man that could beat the EJP #8 was the techman.

(Hermon, Me) The forecast called for rain on both days, but it Saturday remained rain-free, and Speedway 95 was able to get in half of the weekends double header. The PASS Outlaw appearance was rained out part way through the second heat race. No make-up date has been announced.

Scarborough, Maine- The final night of the NASCAR Whelan All American Series at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway resulted in a second title for Bub Bilodeau in the Pro Series and a second title for Don Colpritt in the Sport Series division.  First time championships went to Richard Randall and Shawn Brackett for the Wildcat and Road Runner divisions.

Dufault, Allard, Titus win Acceleration Series showdown events

Dufault overcomes late-season gremlins
to win Runnin' Rebel Summer Showdown

OXFORD, Maine – The Acceleration Series regular season started with promise and ended in a nightmare for Matt Dufault, with mechanical failures knocking him out of the final two Macdonald Motors Runnin' Rebel events and out of a top 15 trophy position for the full-season sweepstakes.

Dufault's bad luck lingered into practice Saturday afternoon prior to the annual Acceleration Series Showdown. He shook the bug just in time, though.
After his day nearly ended in a practice crash, Dufault drove around David Childs with seven laps remaining to capture the four-cylinder, open-competition event and a $500 payday.
