Virginia track ready to host second PASS South Super Late Model appearance of 2011
With nine races in the books the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) South heads to South Boston Speedway in Virginia for the 10th points event of the year for the Super Late Model touring series. The “PASS 150 Presented by Gazette Virginian” event will take place on Saturday, August 20th, the second trip to the Virginia track during the 2011 season.

LEE, N.H. — Ted Christopher, NASCAR’s winningest modified driver of the past 10 years, makes his first-ever start in this Friday night’s Ollie Silva Memorial Classic supermodified race here at Lee USA Speedway. Christopher joins a highly competitive field including 2008 NASCAR Craftsman Truck national champion Johnny Benson, a pair of six-time International Supermodified Association champions, Chris Perley and Russ Wood, plus four-time Northeast Midget Racing Association champ Ben Seitz.

(Waterford, CT) – Retired race driver Jerry Marquis of Broad Brook, Connecticut., dusted off his racing helmet Saturday night and won the 100-lap Valenti Modified Racing Series feature at Waterford, (CT) Speedbowl. The win came on a night when the track presented the fourth annual “Wings & Wheels” program
in front of a large crowd of open-wheel race fans.

Lee, NH – Another full night of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series weekly action went into the record books at Lee USA Speedway on Friday night, including the annual running of the 50-lap Lance Davis Memorial for the Prime Storage Late Model Sportsmen.
Kayla Cazares was first to lead the extra-distance affair, setting the pace for the first six circuits before giving up the top spot to Timmy Johnson. Johnson’s time out front was short, as Bobby Melvin nosed ahead of him just nine laps later, but Melvin’s was even shorter.

Nine year old Ivan Kaffel, of Raymond, Maine is one of the drivers in the sportsman series at Richmond Karting Speedway (RKS).
RKS is one of the few kart tracks in New England that lets the drivers race either a rocker or a champ roll cage. I asked Ivan which he preferred to use his response was, “Champ because you can race them anywhere and I want to race a modified someday which are open wheels.” The major difference between the two are is Rocker cages move and are bolted on, where as Champs are welded on, built at the factory as a single unit.

Unity, Maine – Josh St. Clair of Liberty certainly remembered the quick way around Unity Raceway, returning after a couple of months racing at other venues and driving to an impressive victory in the 35-lap Late Model feature race Saturday night.
St. Clair started behind all of the hotshoes and previous winners and methodically worked his way through the field before engaging rookie driver Ben Clark of Clinton in a thrilling duel for several laps before driving away toward victory lane.
